    Question Bee ID please

    Can anyone tell me what species of bee this is please.

    Think it could be a Tawny Mining Bee as most that have the reddish look to the top of the head/abdomen are n't normally found that far north.

    Cheers Liz, we have had a few unusual bees in the garden but it is almost impossible to capture them with the camera. Last night we had one that looked completely Yellow/Orange with no black, then this evening we had 2 bees with white tails but one was less than half the size of the other. The larger of these is very common in the garden.

    Must google that species now.

    Would be the male and female , they often have very similar markings but the poor hardworking males are usually smaller!

    It looks like a Carder Bumblebee to me - most likely a common carder.
