A lot of my friends always suggest doing their test in Caithness. And who can blame them - must be a breeze compared to sitting it in the city, no?

cities are better experience for driving in. all these people that cant go round a roundabout because they are not used to them is terrible.

    Cool

Course its easy to drive in Caithness, I used to drive in Aberdeen & there isnt much comparison but what I did notice was drivers in the city would use their indicators, were far more curteous & generally knew hpw to use a roundabout

My daughter also passed her test in Wick, 2nd attempt. It really is different in Wick to where we came from ie. big roundabouts with maybe 6 or more exits and 2 lanes on the roundabout, to get into the right lane at peak times of the day could be a nightmare, then getting off it and into the correct lane again for your destination, oh boy! I'm pleased she did the bulk of her lessons under such complex conditions though as she has experience of driving in both locations which must surely be a good thing.

I don't drive, scotsboy. My dad would never let me in the car, and I can't afford driving lessons in the city. I've never had a car to miss it (you don't really need one living in Edinburgh) but if I do need to drive, me and 'er indoors just hire one.

    But as an aside...

How many people, who, having passed their test ten years ago, think they could pass today? I wrote a feature in the Daily Record a few months back based on this. The two people who took part, failed. Miserably. Could you pass again?

TPC - we are missing a big chunk of something here. Last week you were volunteering to drive parcels from IKEA to the wilds of Caithness.
