Caithness Moths - Crambus lothoniellus
In contrast to the huge Poplar Hawkmoth, the subject of my last posting, Crambus lothoniellus is a tiny "micro" moth which does not have a vernacular name. However, it is common and widespread and lives in grasses on the stems of which it rests during the day. Although nocturnal, it will fly during the daytime if disturbed.
