    Default Caithness Moths.

    Another beautifull moth that can be seen in Cithness and Sutherland is the Emperor Moth (Saturnia pavonia). Here's a few photo's taken around Strathy Bog quite a few years ago.

    Looks beautiful... I usually get poplar hawk moths every year which are equally dazzling. This year i have a wonderful hairy caterpillar eating buttercup leaves which I haven't seen before and something else eating my black currant leaves...I'll try and get pics of them too.
    Any idea's what they may turn into ?
