    Default adhoc network on vista

Hi im trying to set up a home network between two vista laptops , I can set it up fine and find files and folders etc the only problem im having is im being prompted for a username and password to access my public folders . I was able to find the user name based on my pcs name I think and password and gained access to my files but I cant remember how I found my username . Can anyone shed any light on where I will find out this info .

    Much appreciated

If you've set Public folder sharing up then you can do it without anybody being prompted for a password.

To find your username you should press Control-Alt-Delete and choose Start Task Manager. Click the Users tab and on the left hand side will be your username (if more than on person is logged in you will see their username(s) too).
