Herbie. "That wasn't a scary film Dougal. But Father Ted, a Volkswagen Beetle with a mind of its own!!"

I watched The Haunting when I was quite young. No scary monsters or gory violence but I was cacking myself with fear. Hollywood often resorts to torture porn in order to scare nowadays.

that is a true horror the ones that keep you guessing that dont need to show you but conjours (spelling) up wild thoughts in your head i love the intence feeling you get i dont need to see it (well i dont) . the descent and the hole done this one does have a monster the other a few nasty (yuk) sceens but just enough to get you thinking.

The Premature Burial scared me so much, talking about it in the pub the next evening I reckon i did a near four minute mile getting home, Edgar Allan Poe
master of horror in my experience.

An Inconvenient Truth is one of the most scariest movies ever made imo.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

my scariest film is IT thought the book byy stephen king was scarry but actually seeing the clown scared me to death and had me thinking about it for weeks afterwards,
Then again maybe that is just because i have an irrational fear of clowns!

Maybe not the scariest but watched Quarantine and was actualy quite a good film. I thought the main actress played that part well. She seemed to be really frightened playing the part.

Night of the living dead (the old one) I was getting looked after by my older brother one night when i was 6 and he said he'd let me stay up to watch this.
I was so scared and I actually couldnt look away from the TV as my brother was physically holding my eyelids open
I have been petrified of all zombie/living dead type films since..the experiance scarred me for life - I still have nightmares of zombies chasing me! lol

IT by stephen king scared me senseless too. Again i was too young to be watching it but at least i could hide at the scary bits instead of having evil brothers force me to see all the bad stuff.

I think it has to be :-

    The Haunting

The old one in Black and White and NOT the new one. When the Banging is heard on the walls I jump even though I know it is coming.

    Yes definately a scary film.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.
