Is it just me, or does this Sephardic ditty sound uncannily like Gaelic folk at points?

I didn't feel the impulse to hurl myself out of a 1st floor window which is normally my first thought when hearing anything remotely folk or Gaelic.

I should have said Celtic rock. The language clearly wasn't Gaelic, and for the most part it was obviously flamenco. There were times that it reminded me of some Clannad and Michael McGoldrick pieces.

Interesting comment Julia, it makes me wonder just what you consider is folk music?

It sounded like Capercaillie to me-the band, not the bird, although over-all the birds squawk is the sound I'd rather listen too.

Quite possibly similar musical backgrounds have led popular world music to have similarities. Everything merges at Womad, that sort of thing.
