If you are getting errors that is the result of a corrupt registry then a registry cleaner is unlikely to help. A dorrupt or damaged registry is just missing keys or data that can be restored. Your best course of action is to fix the problem in the registry by reinstalling IE for example.
If I had a pound for everytime somebody made their computer unusable after using a Registry Cleaner I would be a rich man. Unless you know exactly what you are doing I would stay away from them.
However if you do use one, ALWAYS take a backup of the registry before you make any changes. I have used CC Cleaner in the past with mixed results.
