    Default There's a Girl

    THERE’S A GIRL

There’s a girl in the corner
Who says I should join her
In musing the meanings of life
    She sits all alone
    With a dullness of tone
    Betraying her trouble and strife

There’s a girl in her bed
    With a feeling of dread
Wiping a tear from her eye
    She pulls up the cover
    And prays to a mother
Who never replied to her cries

There’s a girl on the moon
    Who wonders how soon
Things will start going her way
    She takes medication
    With some dedication
To while away each passing day

With a scar to remind her
    Deep down inside her
Of the places and people she’s been
    She bears no regret
    And tries to forget
    The torment of faces unseen

    There’s a girl inside me
    That no-one can see
    Waiting for life to appear
    She sits in the rain
    And nurses her pain
    Musing on memories so dear

    There’s a girl sitting here
    Without doubt or fear
    With feelings like icicles, frozen
    Too late for the truth
    She lets go her youth
To follow the path she has chosen

Behold the turtle - he only ever gets anywhere by sticking his neck out...

Are you the author of this poem?
    I like it.
I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore
