    Default Birds

I know there is a birdwatching subforum, however only a few ever post photos in there, so I thought a bird photo thread would be good in here too, so hopefully all the other photographers on here can post any bird photos they have. Also I can try to learn some tips as birds are the reason I got my camera.

Here are 2 from the Thurso boating pond yesterday. A Mute swan and a Mallard duck.

    Away with the birds

That looks a bit of a daft place for a moorhen to build a nest, she'll be drifting down the river next high tide!

    Kara,

You have your viewing permissions incorrectly set on flickr, not allowed to view!

You need to format the link so the photograph appears on the org.

    1. Go to the photographs page on flickr.
    2. Click on "All Sizes" icon above the photo.
    3. Select Size you wish to post using the options after "Available Sizes".
    4. Scroll down to below the photograph to Box 2, "Grab the photo's URL:"
    5. Copy the URL in the box
    6. Inside the message box on the Org, click on the Postcard Icon above the message box, paste the URL from box 2 on flickr in pop up box that appeares.
    7. I then choose to put the photographs page URL underneath.

    Hope this helps

    kara,

That one doesn't work either, if I go to your flickr page I can see them ok, and can also see that you have not restricted viewing on flickr.
You must have some settings in your flickr account that stop links from working.

    kara,

Yup that works, but with just a few more clicks and a bit of pasting you could get the photo to appear in this thread.
    Try the instructions above.

I think the "trendy" framing spoils the image. It draws my eyes away from the subject because one half is light and the other is dark. All dark would be better.
