Default Scottish Pagan Federation Conference 2009

This year's Scottish Pagan Federation conference takes place in Edinburgh in April. Please click on the link below for details.

    Scottish PF Conference 2009

I hope to meet some more Orgers at this year's conference. We had such a ball two years ago.

After the success of last year's Summer Camp, another one is being planned for this year.

I don't know where it will be yet. Findhorn was mentioned but I think it will be elsewhere, perhaps at Inchberry again.

Do they sacrifice virgins/lambs and dance naked with flaming torches inside pentagrams?

If yes then count me in.

I'll happily add you to the sacrificial list but first you have to prove you're a virgin!

    Default 3 principles

Hey, Crayola, thanks for posting this link - I don't know anything about Paganism, but I had a wee look at your site & the three principles upon which your organisation is based are so sound... the world would be a better place if everyone showed that much respect.

    Have fun at your event!

Why would you want to sacrifice a virgin? Id much rather dance naked with one and just sacrifice the goat.

    Thanks.

We are a very broad church and some of us are quite mad but we all agree that the three principles are core to everything.

    Bump.

Would anyone be interested in having an SPF event in Caithness? I promise you we wouldn't want bilingual pagan roadsigns.

Respect???????Its just a shame some ppl wouldn't treat other ppls opinions with the same respect then the world(or even the org) would maybe, just maybe become a better place.

Nothing to stop you organising a moot at a local eatery - but maybe organise via PM otherwise you don't know what sort of nutter will turn up to disrupt it saying we're all satanists. Do they not realise that to be a satanist, you have to be a xtian? to believe it the anti-christ you have to believe in the christ - ie. a christian... makes Oi larff it do.

I had in mind a formal event rather than a local moot but a moot is a good starting point and it's useful to gauge the level of local support you can count on.

If anyone wants to organise something you'll find information and advice on the SPF website.

I would keep the SPF advice on Moot safety in mind when meeting anyone you don't know and that includes meetings with other posters from the Org!

Use as much common sense as you would at any other gathering of folk you don’t know.
    - Have your own transport home sorted before you go - know public transport times and details in advance if you aren’t
driving yourself or being picked up by a friend or family.
    - Don’t give anyone your address and phone number details or any other personal information unless you feel absolutely
comfortable about doing so. (Pagans can be great folk, but they are still strangers to you.)
    - If possible, go with a friend, or arrange to meet the organiser for a chat before you go to the moot for the first time. If it
is possible, most moot organisers will do what they can to help you.
    - Don’t let yourself feel pressured to go to a private address at any point.
    - Anybody who seems overly interested in sex or nudity, is probably a prat - just as they are at work, a club, a party or a
    disco.
    - Overt sexism (in jokes or language) is also generally a bad sign, though there is a more relaxed attitude towards sexuality
    generally within the Pagan community.
    - Don’t give out personal information you may know about others at the pub moot to anyone without their express
    permission.
