If you fancy treating yourself, this makes fantastic Mince Pies. You can also add ½ tsp of grated lemon rind before adding the egg if you like.

Almond Pastry
8oz plain flour
1½ oz ground almonds
3 oz icing sugar
6 oz butter or block margarine
1 egg yolk

Sift flour, and sugar into a bowl and add the almonds. Rub in the butter/marg. Stir in the egg yolk to make a soft, but not sticky dough. Wrap in cling and chill for 30 mins before using.
