Have never seen a recipe for them being done in the oven. My granny always used to do them on a griddle.
Sounds good, might even give them a go!!
Preheat oven to 180 or Gas 4 or a griddle
8ozs Medium Oatmeal
1/4 tsp Bicar Of Soda
pinch Salt
3 teasps Butter or Margarine or Lard
1/4 pt Water
put water and butter in a small pan heat until butter melted
mix bicarb salt and oatmeal mix make a well in centre add water mix
it takes a wee whiley for the oatmeal to absorb the water etc
turn out to a surface very lightly dusted with oatmeal 6ins circles about 1/4 ins thick
cut in either rounds or quarters place on a baking sheet
bake in Oven for 20mins turning the Oatcakes over regularly (to stop them being stodgy )they should be crisp and light golden leave to cool on a wire rack
Serve with a slab of Scottish Cheese
dont let them Burn !
