No its a case of jobs first, the benefit of this form of power sources has to be weighted up against the risks. There are many far more damaging processes going on in the sea than this. Its maximum out put is about 75%, of an oil fired station, thats a lot of oil not needing moving with its assocated pollution risks and that will have a far greater influence to the fish and bird population.
Thats a huge power output as if 1000MW is enough power for about 1,000,000 people, then add in our windmills and Caithness will be supplying a huge proportion of Scotlands power. We could then demand that they remove those G signs..
