    Default Password file for Vista

A few weeks ago my daughter could not remember her password for her computer so I had a look yesterday.
Using DOS I created a partition on the hard drive and then loaded XP on to it which gave her access to her files and make copies of them. Does any one know what file the password on vista is in so that I can replace it which will allow me to start it up again using vista and then wipe off the xp and then I can remove the partition. It will save formatting it all and reloading the lap top.

You can try using a tool called NTPASSWD. You create an image disc from the download either on floppy or CD. This utility allows you to change passwords offline.
