    What is the ree with the gorgeous golden foliage donsinc? I'm guessing an Aspen or a Birch.

    Actually LIZZ it is a Maple tree. The variety of Maple here in western Canada does not turn red as does the eastern Canadian variety. It turns that lovely yellow.

    Our home is on this street and this is how it looked a couple of weeks ago. All the leaves have turned and dropped now, but the tree in the picture you asked about is just visible at the very end of the block on the right side in this picture. It was the very first one to turn, thus the picture.
