Such lovely, colourful photos, donsinc! Autumn is one of my favourite seasons, over here. Is that a Red Maple tree in the centre of your first photo, and a Rowan tree with the berries in the second?

    Sporran:

The small red tree in the first photo is an Amur Maple, native to Japan or China which does very well as an ornamental tree here in northern Alberta, Canada.

Read about the Amur Maple here:

The tree with the red berries is in fact a Mountain Ash tree, very common here in western Canada.

Read about the Mountain Ash here:

Thanks for your kind words about the pictures.

    Lizz,
The colours, or lack of, in the Hydrangea are fascinating.

    Glorious pictures, donsinc!

LIZZ - I too, find your hydrangea pic fascinating! I like the contrast of the dry old paper colour and texture of the flowers next to the verdant green of the leaves. It's very effective!

    Default Any ideas?

Spotted this very attractive seed head, think it might belong to some sort of Aurum but not sure.
