    Default Birthday present

You don't tell us your relationship with this 70 year old man - I'm surmising he's your Dad/Uncle/Father-In-Law - good grief that covers a fair amount of possible presents then !! My dear Dad was 80 a couple of years ago and we bought him a really good watch - before that he always believed in "Wotsits" best and, because, I lost my Darling Mum 11 years ago, she was never there to advise him any different ...

A gift voucher for whatever tickles his fancy

Or for a more sober idea how about a newspaper or something from the day he was born? Or name him a star???

Try to find a consumable gift as most people past the age of 40 don't need or want more possessions.
