    Default Humpback Whales

The Pentland venture saw 5 or 6 Humpbacks 2 miles off of Duncansby Head last night around 7.30.

Amazing, what Seabird and I would have done to see that.
    Away with the birds

Missed that one by a couple of miles.
I was picking the wife up at Gills Ferry Port at that time.
The John O'Groats Ferry do get some fantastic sightings on their trip to and from Orkney.
Very rare sighting in our waters, last one was recorded by me on the East coast between Lybster and Dunbeath 4th May 2007.
The Humpback is the most studied of all the Whales.
They are also renowed for their song.
