A 1991 Gallup survey indicated that 49 percent of Americans didn't know that white bread is made from wheat.
Thanks, I thought it was from the Primula family. I've found a supplier for seeds, so I'm going to give it a try.
It is a Primula, either the Candelabra or Pendula... both are beautiful I used to have a pale pink one.

I've got the candelabra primula, so could be the other one.
certainly looks lovely, nice colour!
Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts.
Hi Scunner
I bought a plant in a pot last year from Pultneytown nursery and there were 3 of those primulas in with it. (The lady there was a bit miffed and said she would have taken them out and potted them up for sale if she had noticed them!)
Anyway, one of them has grown huge and flowered all summer here - the scent they give off is lovely. I haven't dead headed it and it is now covered in seed heads so if you want some seeds you are very welcome. As I haven't seen it before this year I'm not sure when or how to sow the seeds but there will be a lot for anybody who wants them - please pm if you are interested.
Happy gardening
Helen
Lovely picture of Primula florindae, the giant cowslip.
The commoner colour is yellow.
A lot of heads at the top of the stalk not growing in tiers as the candelabra primulas do.
Put the name in a search engine and you can verify it.
