Default Petition: Red Arrows banned from 2012 Olympics

Please sign this petition. (I have).

The world-famous Red Arrows have been banned from appearing at the 2012 London Olympics because they are deemed 'too British'. Organisers of the event say that the Arrows military background might be 'offensive' to other countries taking part in the Games. The display team have performed at more than 4000 events worldwide, but the Department of Culture, Media and Sport have deemed the display team 'too militaristically British'.

Red Arrows pilots were said to be 'outraged', as they had hoped to put on a truly world class display for the Games, something which had never been seen before. Being axed from a British-based event for being 'too British' is an insult - the Arrows are a symbol of Britain.

The Red Arrows have been excellent ambassadors for British overseas trade, as they display their British-built Hawk aircraft all over the world.

The Arrows performed a short flypast in 2005 when the winning bid was announced, but their flypast at the Games was to have been truly spectacular.

It is to be hoped that common sense prevails, so if you disagree with this decision, please sign the petition on the link.

A 1991 Gallup survey indicated that 49 percent of Americans didn't know that white bread is made from wheat.

Might be an idea to wait until the BAe/Saudi international bribes sensation is sorted out.
Or maybe the Red Arrows in their BAe Hawk aircraft could stand as one more example symbol of all that's solid and trustworthy about British industry and business.
Mind you, most of it is owned by China anyway...
*Edit - no reflection on the pilots, their skills or the British Forces - it's just a shame that excellence in such fields gets lost in the morass of big business.*

Bit difficult since the A9 does not go to Wick. It goes to Scrabster across the Causwaymire. Wick is on a side road off the A9.

What I mean is, the A9 should be re-re-designated back to Wick, it's only right and proper instead of going to the Backwater that is Thurso and scrabster.

Come on folks if the A9 is to terminate in Wick this will sink all the good attempts to get popular support to have it improved!
