Do not blame the Co-op or the Post Office. They did not stop accepting payments for for the Television Licence, it was taken from them.
The whole system of Paying for the Television Licence was shifted to PayPoints. The reason being that there were more PayPoints than Post Offices.
So any place where you see the PayPoint Symbol you can pay for your Television Licence.
But to answer your question, YES there is a Need for the Post Office in the Co-op, As Metalattakk said where would you post your Parcels, or send a letter by Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery, renew your Passport or get a new one, or Get your Road Tax, Postal Orders or even Cash them. Or where would People on Benefit get their Money as the Card Account can only be paid out at the Post Office. The same goes for all people on a Pension. Not only that but the number of people who buy their Foreign Currency from the Post Office is enormous. Ther are lots more reasons than this but it would take just too much room to list them all.
Do Not blame the Post Office if they are not allowed to accept payments for certain Companies, they would love to accept them but it is the Compay who you wish to pay that will not let them do so. So you should complain to these companies and not about the Post Office as it is out of their Hands.
The Post Office in Thurso does a Great Job and Long may they continue to do so.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.
