    Check seabird's post "Moth," looks like a slightly tatty Magpie moth of which there are thousands about at the moment,

    Is gypsy moth another name for magpie moth, as I thought this one was a Magpie moth.

    Bumper year this year. They were even fluttering onto the boat I was aboard on in the middle of the Pentland Firth last week.
