Extreme -Woo! World Tour and New Album!
Hey,
As some of use might know or not know the band Extreme are reuniting all barring the original drummer so release a new album (august 4th) and are doing their 1st world tour in 12 or so years!
Use might recall hearing them on the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert back in the early 90s, who in my opinion did the best tribute act that night!
If u havent heard of them then i suggest you do, there lead guitarist mr Nuno Bettencourt is one of THE most underrated guitarists in the world...check out some of their stuff...most of it written when he wasnt even 20 years of age!
Anyway, there playing glasgows carling academy on the 15th of November and i hope to see some of use there!

I'm absolutely gutted, going to be offshore for their Glasgow gig.
Pornograffitti is one of my favourite albums, It's a monster, money, morre than words and hole hearted, great songs. Nuno, for me, must be up in the top 3 guitarists.

Im gutted Im offshore when theyre playing...saw them twice years ago once in the QMU with saigon kick supporting Me & Gizmo met them afterwards & they were cool guys...one of the best gigs ive been to! Nuno rawks

Aye Zappy, at wiz a bonnie n good gig, May 25th 1991 if i remember correctly....when i hed hair...lol, crackin venue the QMU, do you remember Matt Kramer fae SK throwin' a wobbler cos' some choob threw a poop stained toilet roll at him fae e balcony?.
And yeah Extreme were cool guys, they were brave lettin a couple o weekers on their bus...lol, i canna mind....did you hev yer usual bag full o 12" singles, albums etc to get signed?...lol, at Anthrax i'll never ever forget e look on Scott Ian's face when you handed him about 30 things to get signed....classic

Sorry to say, but the new Extreme album is utter guff, anyone expecting a return to the sound of 'Pornografitti' will be bitterly disappointed.

well considering pornograffitti was there second album wen they was young...espically nuno only being 19...this new album being there 5th album...no1 wood b expectin the same sound as porno due to the fact they have matured as musicians.Originally Posted by Gizmo

I think you'll find that Nuno was 24 when Pornograffiti was released, and if i really want to be picky i could say that this is not the same band that brought us pornograffitti as Paul Geary is missing from this new line-up
And my comment has nothing to do with being naive, many fans were disappointed with the direction the band took with 'III Sides To Every Story' and 'Waiting For The Punchine' is regarded as a complete duffer of an album, i spend a lot of times on rock music forums and the general concensus is that fans of the band wanted to see a return to the classic sound that made them so popular in the first place, well that hasn't happened, Nuno can still play and gary can still sing, but they have forgotten how to write a good song, it's pretentious guff and just not very good at all.

3 sides to every story and waiting for the punchline in my opinion and the opinions of all the Extreme fans on there official fan forum prove u wrong friend...

fully proves that even though porno was an awesome album...the fans opened up to the whole new extreme that they gave us...quit living in the past...porno was 18 years ago...move on!

The forums on any bands official website or dedicated site are full of supernerd fan-boys who will hunt you down and kill your cat if you dare say anything negative about their favourite band, so fan-boy opinions mean nothing to me and they certainly don't reflect the opinion of a wider range of fans.
As for living in the past?...lol...don't make me laugh, you know nothing about me, but i will say this...i don't know you either...but i will put my musical knowledge and my vast and varied music collection up against yours any day

its a FACT that those fans on that site...extreme fans or not...some mayb jst nuno fans or rock/funk music fans in general believe that WFTP and 3 sides is better...thats the discussion were having.
u thought that jst becoz u went on some rock forums and heard some bitchin about extreme going the wrong way...u didnt even check out the true fans? seems a bit odd to me...
sure they may be biased but they are fans of the band and were not talking about likin the band...were talkin about them ALL in general which album they like...clearly not the one u thought so deal with it!
