Question Very pink but what is it

Just wondering if we have any grasses/sedges experts out there that can identify this one seen under the bridge by inverness cathedral. I think the water is tidal there and the plant was growing submerged so is probably salt tolerant but other than that i dont have a scoobies

If its profound what was the name of the golfer and what did he find?

    Default Polygonum bistorta

Bistort-Polygonum bistorta-a perennial of damp meadows locally common in the north.
