Summer evening
The sun has dropped behind the hill,
Leaving the sky in shades so soft, the wind is still.
The blackbird carols from his treetop green,
The moon puts on a silver sheen.
Twitters in the eaves, birds scuffle in their nest,
The bees long gone to their rest,
Across the garden drifts the scent of flowers.
These must be my favourite hours.
The cuckoo too has ceased to call.
The butterflies have crept into the wall.
The snoozing cat opens an amber eye.
As the last swallows leave the sky
When for a moment twixt the dusk and dark,
Even dogs have stilled their bark.
The perfect ending to a sun blessed day.
What a joy the month of May.

That's a lovely poem, LIZZ!
I am living for today, always remembering yesterday, and looking forward to tomorrow!
