Thread: Still Game

  1. #1

    Default Still Game

I was watching a repeat of this last night and it's fantastic The two old guys being philosophical one minute and swearing like neds the next, cracks me up. It got me to thinking about the advantages of being in the, shall we say, second hand of your life. What is the best thing about being past the age of 30?
I'll start it off by saying being able to tell the difference between music and 'that filthy noise' is one
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

Being double the age of 30, I find the benefit is that you can act your shoe size and blame it on being in your second childhood.........and in the process thoroughly embarrass your children and grandchildren.

£80 a month mortgage for a home you're really kind of fond of.

Having just been on you tube, can I recommend the Still Game 'backstairs lavvy' skit, which is utterly brilliant.

Yes, I will be looking forward to embarassing both myself and my grandchildren to be in the future. Correction, I will be looking forward to continuing to embarass myself and my grandchildren to be in the future and not giving a jot. It's the not giving a jot thing I'm looking forward to most.

The one where the Rottweiler jumped off the roof was wonderful.

FA was definitely in the Towering Inferno.
I'd stake my wages on it.

OH falls about every time Winston takes a swing at the bookie and knocks the horse out instead. My favourite episode is the one with Bobby's porn tape, though last year's Christmas special was pretty good too.

The best thing about being past ( well past) the age of 30 is being able have a good old laugh at those folk who think 30 is old.

The best thing about pushing 2 X 30 is no longer feeling any compulsion to be "cool". However my offspring do occasionally grab me as I go out the door in order to correct some perceived error in my garb. As long as the shoes are tied and the fly zipped I am blithely unconcerned.

The best thing about being over thirty? Embaressment is a thing of the past! A friends mother always used to tell us when we got older that we would stop being embarressed over unimportant (and even important) things.... and it's true!
