can anyone tell me what this plant is that i found flowering down by the carpark at the end of the trinkie road ?

thanks for that lizzie i shall have to swot up on native plants again especially the more common varieties
no not a bogbean Lizzie the flowers were only 3 cm above the ground i checked the files on bogbean and they have 5 petals not 4 so its still a mystery

What you have is a scurvy-grass. Its Latin name is Cochlearia scotica. So called because the thick green leaves are rich in vitamin C and sailors suffering from scurvy - caused by vitamin C deficiency - used to munch it in their salads along with the maggoty biscuits and the salt beef. Cochlearia scotica is a northern version of Cochlearia officinalis which might be what is given in your flower book.
