    Default Jeff Healey - R.I.P.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7275162.stm

Sad, sad news of the death from cancer of blues/jazz guitarist Jeff Healey.

A light that shall always be seen.

I only remember him from the film 'Roadhouse' but I remember his performance as being quite memorable.

    A real shame

Since done a quick flick round some of his tunes on YouTube which has revealled the extent of his talent - including a cover of the late George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" (complete with very dodgy hairstyle). RIP both.

Very sad to hear of Jeff Healey's passing at such a relatively young age.
I read on Wikipedia that he started playing guitar at the age of three, despite having lost his sight when he was one.

I always liked Jeff's singing, as well as his guitar playing. "Lost In Your Eyes" was a fave song of mine, and here is good video of Jeff and his band performing it:

R.I.P Jeff. Gone, but not forgotten!

The guy was amazing. I was lucky to be at one of his first gigs in London in the eighties and he stood everyone's hair on end, and this was post Punk, (in the days when there could be such a thing as post anything).

Self effacing and humorous guy too.

I remember like it was yesterday. Happy days.

    RIP
