    Hope someone can help does anyone know why the great engineer was in Wick in the 1800's . Was it to do with the wall and houses near the harbour. Thomas Telford name appears in a document of my 4x g grandfather. I would appreciate any information . Maybe Fred would know.

    The greater challenge would be to find something he didn't build rather than something he did, there wasn't much of Wick before Telford got his hands on it. The bridge, the harbour, Pultneytown all Telfords work as well as the roads to John O'Groats and Inverness..
