powers that be have started to arrange that, something to do with an obligation to last year etc, before i was voted in.

now this isnt final, its subject to change, like i said at the start of this thread its early days.

There always seems to be a fair few folk goin' to these gigs but wouldn't it be class if it was packed? I cant speak for all local musicians but I know I'd rather play 2nd last (or before) to a packed field than last to a considerably smaller crowd and gettin' to Headline! Assuming the chosen band could pull a big crowd, of course!

if you had a big name from south headlining, everyone would roll out of the bars and turn up for their set, no guarantee that these people are going to turn up for the rest of the bands.

I am a former member of the band Whitnoize, and just want to say that the band no longer exists.Our inflated egos killed us. We did enjoy playing the Big Gig in 2006 and had a great time afterwards. Myself (I was the guitarist numpty with the stoopid long shorts) and the bass player have formed a new group, Imperious, with Aaron Wilson and Danny Tonks and are still practising at the mo. Hope to get out and get some gigs soon

After all it is a COMMUNITY event.

The so far line up are to be considered, maybe it should be down to the person with the original BIG GIG name??

I dont want to put a gala event down all together but I think you should stick to arranging empty drawers!!!
