Love all the pictures Tuggs, especially the 2nd one, looking through the trees. It reminded me of the West Highland way which i walked in 1987 for charity. We had to walk along such a path and it was so soft and silent underfoot, because the leaves and the pine needles fallen from the trees made a carpet on the path for you to walk on. I remember thinking how magical it all felt as we walked along. Thanks for posting these Tuggs and stirring my memories again of that week in my life.

Thumbs up Walk on the not so wild side

I had never been to Dunnet Forest until the college took us there for a team bonding event. I had no idea how beautiful or enjoyable the walk could be. The photos reminded me of how lovely the day was. Especially the one looking through the trees. I am surprised that you did not take on of the Totem Pole.
Spring has sprung, the grass is ris', I wonder where the birdies is, the birdies is on d' wing, now thats absurd, everyone knows d' wing is on d' bird

Here's the totem poles on a dull misty day while trying to drain the energy of some hyper-active children!!

Tugmistress they are on the other side of the main forest path (Dunnet side of the very long tunnel shot you took). The whole area has been felled with new plantings so is very open.

great pic, did the kids get exhausted? thanks for telling me where they are! not gone off to the 'left' yet, that's on my to do list so i hope i find them next time. there seem to be a few felled areas, i found one yesterday sort of 'straight up' from the carpark.

Same here. It wasn't as bad as I expected. Dunnet forest is a nice place. Loved that walk through the trees, except when we tried to run it. Its a bit uneven and was muddy in places. Glad I had my wellies on.
