I would suggest (contrary to Deemac) that you try a slight pre-delay to give the sound of double tracking & to a degree giving the voice the feeling of "being in a room" rather than a Cathedral

Thanks Chobbers, not sure what pre delay is. Should I layer the vocal on again and ad very minimal delay to it then adjust the volume to see what that is like?

you could do that. Pre-delay or del on your verb picture is the time it takes for the verb/ambience to kick in. So giving it a pre-delay gives it a sense of being in a room.
