    Default Sinclairs of Lingland, Latheron

Trying to trace my family tree of Sinclairs from the Latheron and Forse area.

James (1842-1896) married (1872) Anne Sutherland (1849-1914) (gt-gt grandparents). Lived at Lingland.
    Alexander (1848-1894)
    Magnus (1851-1922)
    Williamina (b.1856)

James and Anne had 11 children:

    Jessie (b.1874)
    John (b.1876)
James (1878-1944) married (1914) Johanna Dunbar (b.1888) (gt-grandparents). Lived at Forse.

Fred - I didn't think you were to be honest.

The Sinclairs are very canny as to who they impart family history to, especially if you have had the audacity to marry into the family and then divorce out like my granny did! That in itself is not a problem, it's when they ostracise the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren denying them a heritage and recognition that really hacks me off! I suppose that happens in a lot of families though.

I live in hope, maybe one day!? Meanwhile I do this family tree on my own.

    Fred

Sorry for the soap-box moment, but it gets very frustrating at times when you feel you are totally ignored. But I know there will be a few people out there who will now be wondering "which leg of the family is she related to?" But then again maybe some do know.

Thanks for the information, it is very much appreciated. Hopefully by this time next year I will be able to do a lot of the digging myself as I plan to move back to Scotland.
