    Default two moons

    Subject: 2 Moons 08-27-2007

I thought that you'd like to know. I've put it on my calendar. Gentle hugs, Me

    *Two moons on 27th August*

*27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for.............*

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August.

It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

According to one web site this was in 2005

    http://www.wnyinsurance-quote.com/ht...he_bright.html

But it seems this was a hoax that is repeated every year - See http://www.assa.org.au/articles/marshoax/

More accurate for something to look out for is from Gordon Mackie one of our local sky watchers
    Perseid Meteor Shower In August
(peaks on 12/13th Aug). No moon on those nights so hoep ffor clear sky to see the show.
    See http://www.caithness.org/nightsky/ for links
