    Default Uninstalling McAfee

    Hi

Our McAfee software expired and we decided to go for panda security software. We tried to download panda and it asked us to uninstall McAfee first. We tried but it wouldn't let us as it said some components are missing or havent been installed properly. We keep going round in circles trying to uninstall McAfee but are getting nowhere - so at the moment we have no security protection on our computer at home.

    Has anyone any suggestions.

    Thanks

I got rid of McAfee a few years ago as was fed up with it and uninstalled without problem. You should be able to ask them for help but in my experience you won't get anything sensible out of them. However panda might be able to assist and it would be a good way of finding out if their helpline is helpful. I use NOD32 now because it has such a good reputation but also their helpline is excellent and they have simplified downloading on annual renewal so it's really easy. If panda can't help it might be better to look elsewhere as you certainly don't want to be without anything. Good luck.

    This may help:

    or this:

And I would highly recomend AVG as a replacement, either the free or paid for version. Both are excellent.
