Vacancy: CVG office Admin & Finance role

Job Specification:

Duration: Permanent role
Hours: 12 hours a week to be worked flexibly
Salary: 9.90 per hour
Responsible to: CVG Manager
Based: Blended a mixture between working from home and from Telford House, Wick


Caithness Voluntary Group are a registered charity who support the voluntary sector in Caithness and work closely with the Community Planning Partnership. We also run a number of projects Caithness Rural transport, Caithness Befriending, Listening Ear and HERE for Caithness website.

Role Description:

The aim of this post is to work as part of a team providing admin and finance support to ensure everything runs smoothly.

The posts will on occasion involve attendance at meetings which may involve both evening and weekend work. Therefore, a degree of flexibility may be required in working hours. There may also be travel to meetings in different parts of Caithness.

Key Tasks:

1. Overseeing maintenance and upkeep of Telford House including Health & Safety for staff and tenants.
2. Initial point of contact for general enquiries by email, telephone or in person and providing office services to voluntary groups.
3. Paying CVG invoices on RBS bankline and using Quickbooks to maintain the transactions and records for the accountant. Banking & Petty Cash
4. Invoicing for work done for groups and preparing rent invoices for tenants.
5. Organising board meetings and the AGM, typing minutes and distribution of paperwork.
6. Circulating emails to all member groups and maintaining the CVG membership list.
7. Supporting our work with both the BOWL and Halsary funding panels and the disabled access panel.
8. General office duties around filing, maintain asset registers, ordering stationary
9. Putting information on the CVG website and supporting officers with the preparation of minutes.
10. To undertake any other reasonable tasks that may be required as part of the post

Person Specification:


Have experience of the work done by the Voluntary sector in Caithness.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Experience of office work and organising minutes and minute taking.
The ability to quickly connect and establish a good relationship with community groups and stakeholder organisations
Enthusiastic team player with the ability to be work well with others and on own initiative.
Strong IT skills including being competent in the use of online meeting platforms.
To be flexible with work hours to cover holidays and evening meetings.


Experience in using online banking and accountancy software such as Quickbooks.
