Thanks for sharing those "then and now" photos, south view 7. Sad to see the state of both buildings, when you see how they once looked! I do remember the Pavilion picture house as it once was. Do you have any idea what year the old photo of Mount Hooly house was taken? It looked so elegant with its lovely, well kept garden back then!
I am living for today, always remembering yesterday, and looking forward to tomorrow!

The only clue i have to the age of the photograph is that the photographer retired in 1938.

Thank you so much for that Scaraben ! It's a wonderful picture.

It brought back memories of the old Telegram !!! How your heart leapt when the Telegram Boy appeared at your door. I remember the last one I received ! Dreadful news.
But then we didn't have telephones, so they were a God send to us all.

Do you remember the old story related to telegrams?

    It read.....

Dear mum no mun your son.

    the reply read.....

Dear lad too bad your dad !!

    Such were our yesteryears !

    HI SCARABEN
those were the days when one of the main means of communication was the
telegraph boy. it was a bit of a dread when one visited as more often than
not it was bad news. brings back memories as i knew the three in the photo. regards tony

Scaraben - I've moved this to the Old Wick Photos thread as otherwise it would slip down and disappear from the General Forum as more posts/threads appear.

I hope you don't mind but it's much too good a photo to lose.
