Default Wick court appearance hidden under data protection

I have been told by Wick Sheriff officers that court appearances and sentences are now protected under the data protection Act . They made it clear that ALL convictions are protected and not even a court order would allow they to release any information. What is the world coming to when the guilty are protected and the innocent are subject to secrecy from those who have been found guilty and loving on the area with the protection of the police and courts willing to stand by them .

contacted the court by email , both court checks said “ you NOT entitled to know any sentence/conviction outcome under the data protection act”. Found that somewhat strange as went to the sheriff court in Inverness yesterday and they said the exact opposite. Can’t find the sentences/ convictions for December 2020.

The Caithness Courier & John O'Groat Journal print court appearance convictions. Maybe remind them of this too.
