Location: Nucleus, Wick
Salary: £9116.25 per annum based on 21.25 hours per week working either the 08:45-1300 or 12:45-17:00 shift pattern
Closing Date: 16 April 2021
Job Type: part-time fixed contract until May 2022 with possibility of extension.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with Restore Digital working on this significant contract with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).

We are recruiting two key individuals on a job share basis to operate the Reception at the Nucleus facility in Wick. Reporting to the Communications and Events Co-ordinator, this is an important front of house role where you will provide a welcoming and secure environment to all visitors.

You’ll be our visitors’ first point of contact at the site, issuing their security passes and showing them how to complete their inductions. Nucleus is a highly-regulated and secure site, so we need someone confident enough to check any visitors, contractors, and staff have the right passes and/or clearance to be on our site.

As our Receptionist, you’ll have excellent organisational skills, a professional demeanour, and the ability to prioritise multiple projects. You’ll be providing advice and assistance to public users and directing them appropriately within the facility. If you’re confident with Excel, Word, and other Office programmes, we want to hear from you.

You will also support the booking of events for the community space and liaise with our Facilities Management team to arrange the use of rooms. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, our use of meeting rooms is regulated, so you’ll be maintaining the booking spreadsheet and liaising with our hardworking cleaning team to maintain the site as a safe environment.

You’re the hub of our building – everything goes through you, whether it’s visitors, events, or stationery orders. We need you to understand the importance of confidentiality and comply with the strict security standards of such a highly regulated and controlled site. This includes completing several training modules, passing a Disclosure Scotland check, and maintaining daily discretion regarding anything to which you may be privy during your work.

You will also be responsible for monitoring foyer displays and advising archive staff to enable adjustments if necessary, along with assisting with designs for the Topic of the Week on the internal staff noticeboard.

As this is a regulated environment, you will need to successfully pass the BPSS security clearance process. You will also be expected to cover the absence of the other Receptionist and work full time hours on occasion.

If you’re a people person with excellent admin skills and the ability to form good working relationships quickly, we’d love to hear from you.

Please send your up to date CV and Covering Letter outlining why you’re our ideal candidate to Clare Gallagher, Communications and Events Co-ordinator at Clare.Gallagher@nda.gov.uk or Clare.Gallagher@RestoreDigital.co.uk

Successful applicants will be contacted the week beginning 19th April 2021 and interviews will take place online.
