Researching my son's part of my family tree i have hit a brick wall -

I have a Jane Fraser (Frazier) married to Donald Mackay on 30/03/1823 ,their marriage was registered in Eddrachillis district which i would've expected but it was also registered in Wick so i wondered if that would mean that Jane Fraser was from the Wick district? I have been unable to find any other details about her. They had a large family in the Scourie/Kinlochbervie area.

Hello Fiona, I am in roughly the same area as you with part of my family. My great grandmother Johan Fraser was born in Rhiconich and is buried in Scourie cemetery. Her parents were Murdoch Fraser and Alexandrina Mackay both born about 1820 and I have found one brother ie Hugh Fraser in Eddrahillis.

If you come across any common threads let me know and I will do the same for you.

    Regards Marion
