Such a sharp picture of the harbour that I was able to zoom in for details without too much loss of clarity.

My impression is that the row of carts are not there for the catch but are for the taking away
of rubble from the building on the right that is being demolished.

This is my final contribution. There's been loads of visitors to this thread. I hope others will keep posting and try to keep this thread from 'fossilising'.

    Marvin says "Ta-ta", also.

Well done plasticjock, you have kept this thread going and posted some great photos I have never seen before, so thanks from that, very much appreciated.

Im sure plenty other people have photos they could upload, even if its like old gala photos etc they took themselves or their parents/ grandparents box brownie photos that might show parts of the town.

Get digging Orgers, see what you can find and as plasticjock said dont let the thread slowly die, its had more hits than any other so lets keep it going.

Anyone have a photo of the corner of Davidsons Lane and Princes Street where "Buds and Blooms" are currently trading. The 1960`s are my years of interest. If not a photo then memories of shops situated there would suffice.

Think it was around the 1930s, it came under the planning and redevelopment around the same time of new housing being built. Though it did take some time from when the plans were first raised until they were completed due to red tape etc…….nothing new I suppose!

This picture was in my grandmother's things. It was taken at her butter making class in Thurso, would've been around 1910-1915. I don't know how to make the picture bigger- it was all I could do to get it on here! I will be visiting Thurso next week, is there anywhere that may like a copy?
