Such a sharp picture of the harbour that I was able to zoom in for details without too much loss of clarity.
My impression is that the row of carts are not there for the catch but are for the taking away
of rubble from the building on the right that is being demolished.
This is my final contribution. There's been loads of visitors to this thread. I hope others will keep posting and try to keep this thread from 'fossilising'.
Marvin says "Ta-ta", also.

before you go...
have you got a rough date for the harbour photo? thanks.
Well done plasticjock, you have kept this thread going and posted some great photos I have never seen before, so thanks from that, very much appreciated.
Im sure plenty other people have photos they could upload, even if its like old gala photos etc they took themselves or their parents/ grandparents box brownie photos that might show parts of the town.
Get digging Orgers, see what you can find and as plasticjock said dont let the thread slowly die, its had more hits than any other so lets keep it going.
Thankyou so much ,Plasticjock, for the great pleasure you have given to all us exiled Caithnesians, in reminding us of our lovely Thurso, with your fabulous old photos.
Take care and God Bless you.
Any one know when the cottages on Olrig Street were demolished and replaced by the tennis courts?
thanks for adding the dates
Anyone have a photo of the corner of Davidsons Lane and Princes Street where "Buds and Blooms" are currently trading. The 1960`s are my years of interest. If not a photo then memories of shops situated there would suffice.
Making tomorrow`s memories today
Only just discovered this thread yesterday. It's fascinating. Thank you to all contributers.
Fantastic thread, been over 20 years since i left Thurso and apart from a very short week 11 years ago never been back but these photos remind of the fun i had as a youngster and now I'm 'grown up' can appreciate the old town, look forward to seeing it again later this year
