Dipper

I saw a dipper in the burn at the west of Reay. It was characteristically bobbing up/down. I thought the burn was too slow and silty but proved wrong again.

Amazing little birds they are native to my home county too..always remember the first time the children saw one, they thought is was going to drown as it ran along the bottom of a clear river.
They heaved a huge sigh of relief when it bobbed up and sat on a stone before it started it's underwater adventures for a second time.
