    Default Nothing to see here: move along.

    HMG's approach to the very many scandals which have surfaced in recent months appears to be not to acknowledge them in the hope that they go away.

    They have taken this approach with:- (please feel free to add to the list)

    The Dominic Cummings Affair;
    Robert Jenrick and the porn king's (Richard Desmond) dodgy planning application;
    Stanley Johnson's quarantine dodging trip to Greece;
    The Covid 19 PPE procurement mess;
    The Huawei debacle;
    Russian interference in UK elections;
    London being used to launder Russian oligarch's dirty money:
    The complicity of those in some of the highest offices in the land in profiting from illegal Russian involvement in the UK.

    The approach seems to be working. Already the BBC have moved the various Russian-related scandals down the running order despite the fact that what has been going on is alleged to be wide spread corruption at the highest levels. The other ones in the list all disappeared fairly quickly from the front pages and our TV screens and are now nowhere to be seen. Again these latter scandals are all serious issues which merit proper investigation by both the press and the police. Yet, nothing appears to be happening.

    Makes you wonder just how large the web of corruption at the heart of our democracy really is.

    No Country is truly A Democracy, no Country is Truly without corruption. Some are worse than others!
    It’s the ‘new way’ of life, sad as that is!

    Oh, so that's all right then! We just have to put up with a corrupt "elite" who continually manipulate the system to ensure their interests are always served first whilst the rest of us have to get on with it as best we can. What an appalling indictment of the system. And, this is the system you argue so forcefully for Scotland to remain part of. You actually seem to want Scotland to continue to subject itself to governance by the most corrupt country in the world (see George Monbiot video on another thread). That is not wanting the best for your country.

    Even as a dyed in the wool Unionist you surely must be embarrassed by the appalling state the UK is currently in.

    Dunno what the context of this thread is, but as the Ignore filter doesn't weed out the thread title, it seems appropriate;

    The Orkney seperatist massive out in force, along with the 2 cars that they came in in the background

    Oh dear, it seems that the divisive nationalists have been caught out lying yet again. In the thread "Is it true" (I think I may have broken it posting pictures of the lying divisionists....Sorry Admin!) was a picture on "The National" website showing a junction with a crowd of 3 separatists, and a captions saying that "Demonstrators lined the streets for the Prime Minister's visit to Orkney"

    None of us could recognise that junction, so with some detective work on Google Street View, it turns out the picture was taken outside Kinloss Barracks.

    Is there no end to the lies and deceit that the seperatists will use to try and perpetuate the myth that there is support for Scexit here in Orkney?

    The name may be gone, but that's all. "Maggie" is still here.....
