    Hi this is a request to all Harpers who may have old pictures of granddads or grannies of Harpers who were originally from Wick Caithness
    One of my great great granddads was Andrew Harper & Mary Ann Mowat Harper
    1808-1898=90 1805-1870=65

    This is for my family tree thanks

    The attached photo - from sometime between 1872 and 1892 - is in the possession of Canadian descendants of Margaret Harper (1823-1873), daughter of David Harper (1799-1846) of Bilbster & Barbara Robertson (1790-1866), of Greenland, Dunnet. It's thought to be of Harper relatives back home. Maybe related to your Harpers. Or may be Robertsons.

    Thank you John I will look into that as I have a relation David Harper who was a great granddad 1867- 1950 married to Johan Harper (Bruce) Married 1885 1868-1940=71

    Hi Alistair,
    Because I live in Newton Hill I came across this photo of John Harper who crofted on the Hill probably sometime in the first one third of the 1900's. Someone has written "Andrews twin brother above the photo"
    I will pm you with some more details
