Thread: Lies, Damned Lies and Tory Lies.

  1. #1

    Default Lies, Damned Lies and Tory Lies.

    The Tory's mis-use of social and other media knows no bounds. Two stories over the past few days illustrate this perfectly.

    A few days ago they got caught doctoring video footage of Sir Keir Starmer to make him look hesitant and unsure about Labour Party policy on Brexit. One of the main organisations critical of the Tories for doing this was the fact-checking organisation Full Fact.

    Last night the Tories got caught out again when they re-branded their Twitter press account to make it look like an independent fact checking service which they called "FactCheckUK". They quite blatantly tried to use this account to undermine Jeremy Corbyn's statements during last night's TV debate under the guise of being an independent fact checking service.

    Is this the sort of actions we want of a prospective government? Add in their disdain and disregard for Scottish voters and the future looks horrific. Never trust a Tory.

    Deary me. SNP now sending out misleading election material which the Permanent Secretary tells them must be destroyed;

    Between this, and the court hearing for their former leader, its not been a good day for them.

    Looks like it is going to be a case of "Pulped Fiction"!

    Never trust a Tory, I said. Here's another reason why.

    They really are utterly shameless.

    More false promises. At least this time they weren't made to the people of Scotland.

    It's not just me who thinks the Tories may be less than honest.

    The founder of the WWW, Sir Tim Berners-Lee said, in relation to the FactCheckUK scandal, "the renaming "was impersonation". Don't do that. Don't trust people who do that."

    I think that sums up what we should all feel about the Tories.

    Have a look at this video from Good Morning Britain. It sums up perfectly what a bunch of charlatans the Tories are.

    They have absolutely no shame.

    Yet another video showing the lengths the Tories will go to to deceive voters. In this one Conservative candidate, Lee Anderson got caught out ‘secretly’ arranging to speak with a local supporter during filming of him out campaigning. However, he left his mic on while he was making those arrangements and now we can all get to see and hear him wilfully trying to deceive the voters in his constituency.

    However, it looks pretty certain that they will win the election, whether we like it or not and give Boris the working majority he craves and will do anything to achieve. You will not change a single attitude with your endless posting on here, Corky Smeek but I guess it makes you feel better somehow.

    Perhaps this explains it:-

    "The wisest thing in the world is to cry out before you are hurt. It is no good to cry out after you are hurt........ it is often essential to resist a tyranny before it exists.". GK Chesterton.

    Yet more untrue and defamatory statements being made in SNP election leaflets!

    With both the Permenant Secretary, and now a judge on the Court of Session telling the SNP that their election material cannot be sent out as it contains false or defamatory statements, then what, if anything, coming from the SNP, can be believed?

    Oh look. Jo Swinson admits the Lib Dems did take £14k from the boss of a firm with fracking licences. Nothing in that leaflet was factually incorrect. The judgement was based upon a technicality

    It's just another example of how dopey Jo Swinson is. Imagine wanting to draw attention to donations from sources which lead to her being accused of hypocrisy. She has turned a constituency matter into one commanding national attention and right before a GE too. See image below for more details.

    Apparantly not. Seems that even the SNP candidates themselves cannot even be trusted to tell you which constituency they are standing in;

    "People can disagree about politics, but there is no excuse for mindless aggression, vandalism or violence which causes stress and anxiety in our local communities."

    Imagine a Scottish Government Minister having to say that with respect to her own constituency office in 2019.
