(Salary: £24,670 - £30,742 pro-rata)

Would you like to work in a purpose built new hospital in a tranquil and picturesque countryside setting? Then we want to hear from you!

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic first level registered general nurses and mental health nurses for both our Strathy and Kylesku Wards. You will join our small team of dedicated and committed staff; the successful candidates would be expected to work across both wards as the need arises.

Strathy Ward is our 12 bedded older adult dementia assessment unit supported by consultants in older adult psychiatry. The Unit provides assessment to patients Highland wide and you will be liasing and working with the wider integrated teams. You should have experience of working within older adult mental health services but consideration will be given to candidates with the desired knowledge and skills working in other areas within older adult services.

Kylesku Ward is a 10 bedded unit supporting the local communities in providing rehabilitation assessment, discharge planning and End of life care. The role will involve working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality, evidence based holistic care. The post-holders will need to be innovative and possess an ability to work across professional boundaries, underpinned by a real desire to provide the highest standards of patient centred care in this GP led unit.

NHS Highland is committed to the integration of its health and social services and candidates must demonstrate experience of team working and the ability to communicate with all social and care agencies as liaison and post discharge follow up is an integral part of the post.

In the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse/Deputy Charge Nurse, the post holders may be required to provide cover to ensure effective operation of the clinical area. Commitment to continuing personal development is also essential. Consideration will also be given to newly qualified candidates or to those who may wish to return to practice.

These are permanent full-time or part-time posts with various hours available, working rotational day/night contracts, covering a 7-day rota as required. Job-share candidates will be considered.

Relocation packages are available to the successful candidates and temporary accommodation is also available within East Sutherland.

Informal enquiries would be welcomed by either Senior Charge Nurse or Deputy Charge Nurses on Strathy and Kylesku Wards, Tel: 01863 760207/01863 760209.
