Thread: Anchoring Off Stroma

  1. #1

    Default Anchoring Off Stroma

On my charts it shows an anchoring location off Stroma, near to the harbour, at about 6m depth. Does anyone have any details of this anchorage (for interest)? What is the holding ground like (sand, shell ?). Is it protected from the tidal current?

I've a book that gives some information about anchorages around Scotland.

The entry for Stroma says there is a comfortable anchorage out of the tide midway between the harbour and Mell Head off the sandy beach. The entry then mentions 3 metres which i assume is the depth and also mentions sand and weed patches.

    Hope that helps.
