Default Question about army service in World War 2

One of my great uncles (he died in the 1970s when I was a child so I never spoke to him about his life ) was in the army in the Second World War, none of my family know much about his war service. Does any one know how to find out what regiment someone was in etc, please?

You can apply to the MOD for our great uncle's service record at https://www.gov.uk/government/collec...ervice-records it will cost you £30. It would be helpful if you know his Regimental number, his date of birth and his full name.

    Thank you for that.
